We are members of the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO) which represents 75,000 members teaching and working in public elementary schools across Ontario. Members of ETFO include Teachers, Occasional Teachers, and Education and Personal Support Workers and recently added Designated Early Childhood Educators.

The Hastings and Prince Edward Occasional Teachers’ Local (HAPE-OTL) is one of 31 Occasional Teacher Locals within ETFO. We represent approximately 260 qualified Occasional Teachers who replace classroom teachers on a daily or long term basis whenever a teacher is absent.

The Local protects the rights of our members, negotiates and monitors our Collective Agreement, provides professional development activities and serves as a vital link to ETFO. A current copy of the Collective Agreement is always available to view on this website.
